CASA Virtual Gala
Stay home and support children’s mental health
Since we couldn't be with you at the CASA Carnival this year, we wanted to spend a night with you virtually to show our appreciation for your support.
You can still watch this incredible entertainment in support of children's mental health during the pandemic.
CASA’s Virtual Gala included special performances by Canadian singer, Adam Fisher, Victoria School Choir, and other special guests. There were also special appearances by Canadian Olympic Champion Jamie Sale and Dr. Deena Hinshaw.
Adam Fisher has gained attention for his wide range of repertoire, from Mozart (Abduction from the Seraglio with Opera Atelier), to Margaret Atwood and Tobin Stokes (their opera, Pauline, with City Opera Vancouver). He is a frequent guest with Opera in Concert and Toronto Operetta Theatre, including such roles as Raoul in La vie parisienne and Count Gustav in Land of Smiles. Other performances include Camille in Merry Widow (Edmonton Opera), Lysander in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Pacific Opera Victoria), Father Alexander in Oksana G. (Tapestry New Opera).
Victoria School of the Arts is a K-12 School in Edmonton that focuses on Arts as a foundation for creating lifelong learners. The Victoria School Jazz Choir (Una Voz and Sola Voce) are under the direction of Bruce Cable, and are two of the three High School level performing ensembles. The auditioned ensembles of 18 voices each, sing a variety of music, including Pop, Gospel, Doo Wop, Jazz, Musical Theather, and Blues. The choir performs several times a year at Victoria School and the surrounding community, and have been featured in the past at performances with St. Albert Mayor's Celebration of the Arts, Josh Gorban, and The Edmonton Symphony Orquestra. The Jazz Choirs are thrilled to have been a part of CASA's Gala, and honour the work they do throughout the year for mental health.
If you want to support children’s mental health during the pandemic, please share the event with your family and friends.
